Research

Prof. Kyeong Kyu Kim has been working on diverse areas in biomedical sciences including cancer, infectious diseases and regenerative medicine, by applying structural and chemical biology tools throughout. His ongoing research projects focus on various macromolecules involved in protein metabolism, stem cell differentiation, microbial pathogenesis and non-canonical DNA, such as Z-DNA, G-quadreplex and triplex in genome. Furthermore, his research encompasses nanobiotechnology in which biomacormolecules are combined with inorganic nanostructures to produce novel functional molecules for biomedical and material applications. These issues have been received extensive attention as the major questions of current biomedical sciences. We aim to apply our understanding on these systems to the development of novel therapeutics.
